Making and Submitting Your Album
1. The first step is pretty obvious - COMPOSE YOUR SONGS! An average POM album has about 5-8 songs. So when deciding to make an album, keep this guideline in mind.
2. This next step is essential (unless you want an unknown album) - THINK OF AN ALBUM TITLE! This title can be the main song in album (for example, one of my upcoming albums is called Hello Good Times of Old and its main song is that same name) or it can be a title named after the feel of the majority of the song such as Fear or Being Happy. If the songs in the album are of the same genre, you can base the title on that.
3. MAKE YOUR ALBUM COVER ART! The cover should be the visual representation of the album. There is no restriction on what you do for the cover, no matter how complicated or simple. I would recommend you contact United Graphics or contact our Graphics Expert Spectre, for making a cover. But of course, the choice is yours to make.
4. CREATING A WIDGET (optional step)! A widget is not essential but a good idea if you want people to be able to listen to the songs of the album before actually downloading your album (making it easier and "safer" for the fan or listener). I would recommend the use of GrooveShark to create this widget. All you have to do on GrooveShark is first of all create an account, then access the "Upload" tab on the left-hand side of the page. You first must insure that you have Java 1.6 installed on your computer to be able to successfully upload songs onto GrooveShark. After you upload your songs onto GrooveShark, make a playlist of the songs you want on the widget. To make a playlist, you must first click on the + next to where it says "PINBOARD", or go to the "Playlist" tab and select "+ New Playlist". Then name your playlist (preferably the name of your album). Then drag the songs in your album into the playlist to add the songs to the playlist. Then, when your all set with your playlist, click on the playlist you want and hit the "Share" button and out of that list select "More". Then, select "Embedded" and there choose your settings (color, size, etc) and then hit the "Copy to Clipboard" button. Finally, just past the embedded code into your email or PM and you have successfully made a widget for your album!!! Aren't you so proud of yourself!?
5. SENDING THE ALBUM TO US! All you need to do this is to put all the stuff (the songs, album covers, widgets etc) into an email and send it to t[email protected] (or PM to Shogun) and wait for up to 72 hours for us to process the request.
